Sheikh Abdullah Bin Suleiman Al-Manea: is President of the courts of the Makkah Al Mukarramah by delegation and has been a member of the Senior Ulama Board since its inception. He was also Vice General President of Scientific, Interpretation, Call and Guidance Research Department.

Sheikh Abdullah is a member of Shariah Supervisory Committees of various banks in Saudi Arabia. He is the Deputy Chairman of the Shariah Board of Accounting and Auditing Organisation of Islamic Financial Institutions. He has compiled a number of fatwas and has written many books on Islamic Banking.

Sheikh Dr Abdullah Bin Mohammed Al-Mutlaq: holds a PhD from Imam Mohammed Bin Saud University, Saudi Arabia and is a member of the Senior Ulama Board and Ifta Committee. He sits on the Shariah Boards of many banks in Saudi Arabia including that of Saudi American Bank, Riyadh Bank and AlJazirah Bank. He has compiled a number of fatwas and has written a number of books on Islamic contract law.

Dr Mohamed Ali Elgari: holds a PhD in Economics from the University of California. He is a professor of Islamic Economics at King Abdul Aziz University. He is an expert at the Islamic Jurisprudence Academies of the Organisation of Islamic Countries and the Islamic World League. Dr Elgari is a member of Shariah Boards of many Islamic banks and Takaful companies including that of Dow Jones, International Islamic Fund Market, Citi Islamic Investment bank, Merrill Lynch and Saudi American Bank.

Sheikh Nizam Yaquby: is a graduate in Economics and Comparative Religion from McGill University and is an internationally acclaimed scholar in the Islamic banking industry. He has been a teacher of Tafsir since 1976. He advises a number of banks and financial institutions including Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, BNP Paribas, Dow Jones, Lloyds TSB, Citi Islamic Investment Bank E.C. Bahrain and Standard Chartered on matters pertaining to Islamic Banking and Finance.

Dr Muhammad Imran Ashraf Usmani: has completed his Aalmiyah from Jamia Darul Uloom, Karachi and holds a PhD in Islamic Finance from University of Karachi. He is a member of the Central Shariah Board of the Central Bank of Pakistan. He is an established academician and teaches Fiqh at Jamia Darul Uloom, Karachi. Dr Imran Usmani has been engaged by various financial institutions including Meezan Bank, Pakistan and Guidance Financial Group, USA for advice on Islamic Law and Islamic Finance.

Dr Mohammad Akram Laldin: holds a PhD in Islamic Law from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. He has extensive experience in teaching Islamic law at the International Islamic University, Malaysia (IIUM) and is currently the Executive Director of International Shariah Research Academy for Islamic Finance, Malaysia.

Dr Muhammad Achmad Sahal Mahfudh: is the Chairman of Indonesian Ulama Council, Chairman of Shariah National Board and Head of Nadhlatul Ulama. He had the privilege to study in Mecca under direct guidance of Sheikh Yasin Al-Fadani and has been awarded an honorary doctorate from the Islamic State University, Jakarta.

Regional Shariah Committee - Malaysia

Dr Younes Soualhi: holds a PhD from the University of Malaya in Usul al-Fiqh and holds a Master's degree in Usul al-Fiqh from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). He also advises Munich Re Takaful (Germany). He has been teaching Fiqh and Usul al-Fiqh at IIUM for more than 13 years.

Dr Rusni Hassan: is a graduate of Kulliyyah of Law from the International Islamic University, Malaysia (IIUM) and also holds a PhD in Law from IIUM. She is an assistant professor of law at IIUM and has been teaching law and Islamic commercial law at Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws, IIUM since 1993. Previously, she has also taught at the Academy of Islamic Studies, University of Malaya.

Khairul Anuar Ahmad: is a graduate of the Academy of Islamic Studies of University, Malaya and has also completed his Master's in Shariah from the University of Malaya. He has been a lecturer at the Faculty of Management and Muamalah of Selangor Darul Ehsan Islamic College since 1999. He has authored a number of research papers on Islamic Finance.

Regional Shariah Committee - Indonesia

Dr Muhammad Achmad Sahal Mahfudh: is the Chairman of Indonesian Ulama Council, Chairman of Shariah National Board and Head of Nadhlatul Ulama. Professor Dr M. Din Syamsuddin: has studied at the Faculty of Ushuluddin, majoring in Religion Comparison at Syarif Hidayatullah State Institute for Islamic Studies (IAIN) and at the Kulliyatul Muallimin Al Islamiyah at Modern Islamic Boarding School Gontor, East Java. He holds a Doctorate in Islamic Political Thought from University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), United States. He is a Professor of Islamic Political Thought in the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Graduate Programme at the Islamic State University in Jakarta. He is the Vice General Chairman for the Indonesian Ulama Council and the Chairman of the Central Committee of Muhammadiyah.

Ikhwan Abidin Basri: holds a Master's degree in Islamic Economics from the International Islamic University, Islamabad. He is a member of the Shariah Boards of many Islamic banks including The Shariah Branch of Bank Bukopin, Deutsche Bank AG, Indonesia, in addition to being a member of the Indonesian National Shariah Council. He has also authored a number of papers on Islamic Finance.

Dr Mohammed Akram Laldin: holds a PhD in Islamic Law from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. He has extensive experience in teaching Islamic Law at the International Islamic University, Malaysia (IIUM) and is currently the Executive Director of International Shariah Research Academy for Islamic Finance, Malaysia.

Ustaz Haron Bin Hassan: has studied Islamic studies under the guidance of eminent Islamic scholars for more than 13 years. He teaches Islamic subjects at Madrasah Al-Juneid, Singapore and is a registered member of the Association of Islamic Scholars & Religious Teachers, Singapore. He has authored several books on topics such as Islamic History, Law of Jurisprudence and Curriculum for Islamic Schools.

Ustaz Muhammad Haniff Bin Hassan: has obtained his degree in Islamic studies from the University Kebangsaan, Malaysia. He sits on the boards of many institutions including the Madrasah Al-Irsyad Management Committee, Centre for Contemporary Islamic Studies Board, Shariah Appeal Board and Association of Islamic Scholars & Religious Teachers. He also works as a research analyst at the Institute Of Strategic Studies with Nanyang Technological University, Singapore and is the editor of Magazine Risalah.
