You will begin by attending a welcome and induction, giving you the opportunity to meet with key representatives from across the business, as well as providing an overview of the learning and development agenda.
Induction
Our residential induction programme will give you the opportunity to learn about our culture, principles and values, and gain an essential range of transferable soft skills. You will also start to build a network of contacts – with peers as well as senior management – that will serve as a valuable resource to share knowledge and experiences during your ongoing career. This will be followed by comprehensive technical training, where the structured programmes will provide you with the skills and knowledge necessary to add value and make a real contribution to HSBC Amanah from day one. You will be trained by consultants with recognised expertise in their fields, including HSBC professionals from throughout the Group.
During the course of the programme, you will study relevant accounting and financial analysis skills, corporate and investment strategy and financial modelling. You will then receive further training tailored to specific business areas to increase your knowledge of relevant methodologies, products and techniques. It is a challenging and an interactive learning process, with extensive use of relevant case studies and workshops to put theory into practice. In addition to the training and development opportunities, there will be a wide range of events planned to continue to provide you with opportunities to network with your peers from other parts of the bank in a more informal environment.

As part of our ongoing commitment to learning and development for all employees, we provide ‘Acumen’, a comprehensive catalogue of e-learning financial modules covering a wide range of topics. This system offers over 400 hours of e-learning, from basic to advanced financial concepts available to all employees from the desktop or any Web access. Acumen is an advanced financial e-learning product which utilises the very latest online techniques, including simulation, to enrich and reinforce the process of knowledge transfer. You will be encouraged to use this system as part of your ongoing learning and development programme.
