Our Process
Our application process consists of four stages:

• Online application form
• Online tests
• First interviews
• Assessment centres

If you are successful in your application form and in the online tests, you will be invited to attend a first interview by telephone. Assessment centres are the final stage of the selection process and are two-way events. They are not just designed to help us decide if you are right for us, they also help you decide if we are right for you.

We expect you to put thought and effort into your application – in return we put time and resources into our assessment process. Every application is read and carefully assessed against our selection criteria to make sure our decisions are always fair and informed.

About online tests

We use a range of online tests to help us choose the very best talent. These include verbal and numerical reasoning tests. If your application passes our screening process, we’ll ask you to complete some of these. They should take about 20 minutes and because they’re online, you’ll be able to take them at a time and a place that’s convenient for you. If you're invited to complete the online tests, we'll send you a link to the SHL Solutions website (link). SHL is the company that produces the tests and you can find details of what’s required as well as some good examples of the type of questions involved on their web site. We strongly recommend that you complete the sample questions provided before you take the actual tests. You will have seven days to complete the tests. Do this when you can give them your undivided attention – make sure it’s quiet and you won’t be disturbed. You can find a practice test here.

This year, we’re offering the online tests in the following languages:

• Spanish (Castilian)

• Norwegian
• Korean
• French Canadian

When you fill in your online application form, you will be asked to select the language you would feel most comfortable completing the tests in. If we invite you to complete the tests, this will be the language selected for you.

We re-test candidates at later stages in the selection process to ensure the validity of the online test results – so there’s no point in getting someone else to help you or complete them for you.
